A money laundering expert working on Robert Mueller’s Russia probe is leaving the special counsel’s team to return to her previous role at the US Department of Justice, the FT has learnt.
Mr Mueller has secured guilty pleas from six defendants, including four former advisers and aides to Mr Trump: Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser; Rick Gates, the former deputy chair of the Trump campaign; George Papadopoulos, a former foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign; and Mr Manafort.
