Voter turnout shatters recent records for Michigan primary elections

This is the best news. Everyone needs to vote in November.

‘Voter turnout in Tuesday’s primary election in Michigan shattered records going back at least as far as 1978, a state election official confirmed early Wednesday.

More than 2 million votes were cast, and based on still incomplete and unofficial election returns, it appears voter turnout was close to 28 percent.’

Let’s review.

Trump’s denial that he knew about the Trump Tower meeting must be put in the context of what his campaign has said about their interactions with Russia during the 2016 campaign and REALITY.

Let’s review.

In November 2016, it was the official position of the Trump campaign that there were NO CONTACT whatsoever between Trump campaign officials and Russians

“There was no communication between the campaign and any foreign entity during the campaign”  — Hope Hicks, 11/11/16

Since then we’ve found out about the following:

In April 2016, Paul Manafort met with Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian-Ukrainian political operative with past ties to Russian intelligence

On April 27, 2016 Trump met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak

On April 27, 2016 Jeff Sessions met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak

In May 2016, Donald Trump Jr. dined with Alexander Torshin, the deputy chairman of the Central Bank of Russia (NRA connection to Russian spy currently under arrest)

On June 9 2016, Trump Jr., Manafort and Kushner met with multiple Russian operatives at Trump Tower after being promised dirt on Hillary Clinton

On July 7, 2016, Trump adviser Carter Page met with Igor Sechin and Igor Diveykin in Moscow

On July 20, 2016, Sessions met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at the RNC

On July 20, 2016, Carter Page and J.D. Gordon met with Kislyak at the RNC

On September 8, 2016, Sessions met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in his Senate office

Each one of these meetings represents a LIE by the Trump campaign regarding their contacts with Russia

Neither Trump nor his campaign have explained why they told the American people such a blatant lie about the campaigns contacts with Russia

Now we are supposed to believe that Trump didn’t know about the June 9 meeting, a meeting his spokesman originally insisted never occurred.

Context is important.

Basic facts of Russia scandal

Basic facts of Russia scandal:

1. Russia took actions to help Trump win, including hacking emails

2. Russia reached out to Trump campaign, offered help

3. Trump campaign made clear it welcomed the help

4. When emails emerged, Trump campaign publicized, denied Russia contacts

BREAKING: The editor of Wikileaks…

BREAKING: The editor of Wikileaks is confirming that the group was approached by a data firm working for President Donald Trump’s campaign during the 2016 election.

Julian Assange says on Twitter that Cambridge Analytica reached out to his group prior to last November, but Wikileaks rejected the company’s “approach.” Assange isn’t specifying the content of that approach.

He issued the tweet after a news website, The Daily Beast, reported that Cambridge Analytica CEO Alexander Nix reached out to Assange during the presidential campaign about the possible release of 33,000 of Hillary Clinton’s missing emails. Those emails have never been publicly released.

Robert Mercer, a billionaire Trump supporter, is a backer of Cambridge Analytica. Former White House strategist Steve Bannon served as a vice president at the company before joining the administration.

While you were sleeping

While you were sleeping the Senate Republicans struck down a rule that would have let Americans sue banks and credit card companies.

This was put in place under Obama and hadn’t even fully been implemented yet… yesterdays vote was 100% Dems voting No, with a Pence tie-breaker.

Thanks Republicans, I’m sure this will help all of us out.

Senator Sherrod Brown, Democrat of Ohio, said the Republicans had betrayed ordinary Americans. “By voting to take rights away from customers,” he said, “the Senate voted tonight to side with Wells Fargo lobbyists over the people we serve.”

Don’t be one of the 46% – read, think, check sources!

Trump says poll about fake news, published by ‘dishonest’ Politico, is real news…(He didn’t cite his source, perhaps because it was Politico, which he has consistently called unreliable.)

“Unreliable” is putting it mildly. The president’s exact language about Politico is “the dumbest and most slanted of the political sites” — a “phony,” “third-rate,” “dishonest” “scam” published by “losers,” “clowns,” “serious haters” and “some very untalented reporters.”

Trump’s position is clear: Don’t believe Politico.

Except this time! Believe Politico when it says that 46 percent of Americans think that major news outlets (like, say, Politico) make things up.

Another unbelievably inappropriate action by our POTUS.

Another unbelievably inappropriate action by our POTUS. Remember this position is open because he fired Preet Bharara who was universally known to be bi-partisan and someone who fought for the people against corruption.

Former President Obama never interviewed a U.S. attorney candidate during his two terms, according to Matthew Miller, who served as Justice Department spokesman.

“To be very blunt, these three jurisdictions will have authority to bring indictments over the ongoing special counsel investigation into Trump campaign collusion with the Russians and potential obstruction of justice by the president of the United States,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) said in an interview Thursday. “For him to be interviewing candidates for that prosecutor who may in turn consider whether to bring indictments involving him and his administration seems to smack of political interference.”

Charlottesville and Donald Trump

In case there was any doubt about the connection between today’s hate march in Charlottesville and Donald Trump, this is what David Duke, the former KKK grand wizard, said when asked what the march represents to him:

“We are going to fulfill the promises of Donald Trump. That’s what we believed in. That’s why we voted for Donald Trump because he said he’s going to take our country back. And that’s what we gotta do.”
